Cart Sprayer Nozzle Tip Leaks, Poor Spray Pattern, Partial Spray, or No Spray

Modified on Tue, 15 Sep at 5:57 AM

Applies to: Handy Cart Sprayer, 3 gallon wheeled cart sprayer sold under the Scotts and Roundup names (manual 184328). Some models have a manual pump, some have the Pump Zero rechargeable electric pump; the article says which.

What causes this: A missing or damaged O-ring or flat seal at the nozzle, a clogged spray extension or nozzle, or (electric models) a tank that is not pressurized or a clogged shut-off.

How to fix it:

  1. Manual pump models: replace the O-ring at the extension tip. Electric models: install the flat seal behind the nozzle tip, or replace it if damaged.
  2. Remove the nozzle and clean it.
  3. Electric models: make sure the pump is turned on and the tank is pressurized, clean the shut-off, and replace the nozzle if it is damaged.

Nozzle parts vary by model. 3 gal cart sprayer nozzle kit 184361.
