How to Order a Replacement Pump Assembly or Pump Zero Head

Applies to: Battery-powered sprayers using the Pump Zero technology (Smith S103 series, DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN, Scotts, Lesco, and other lithium-ion models). Use this when the pump itself has failed and needs replacement, not when the sprayer just needs troubleshooting.

What causes this: When the pump motor fails, leaks internally, or no longer holds charge, the entire pump assembly may need to be replaced. The pump assembly is the integrated motor + pump head + battery housing on most modern FGI battery sprayers. Before ordering a replacement, confirm that the issue is the pump itself and not something simpler.

How to fix it:

1. First, rule out simpler causes. See: Sprayer Pump Will Not Turn On Despite a Full Charge. Verify it is not a battery, charger, residue, or priming issue before ordering a pump.
2. Find your sprayer's model number on the label on the tank or pump.
3. Check whether your sprayer is still under warranty. The warranty period varies by brand (typically 1-3 years from purchase date). If covered, see: How to File a Warranty Claim. The replacement pump may be free.
