Applies to: ULV17 Cold Fogger and similar ULV (Ultra Low Volume) cold fogger units sold by The Fountainhead Group, Inc.
This guide covers normal operation, routine cleaning, and basic troubleshooting. For which chemicals are safe to use, see ULV17 Fogger - What Chemicals Can and Cannot Be Used. For warranty steps, see How to File a Warranty Claim.
How to operate it:
- Fill the tank with a water-based or water-soluble product approved for cold ULV foggers. Do not overfill past the fill line.
- Make sure the tank is seated and sealed before you power on.
- Plug into a grounded outlet. Power on and allow output to start before you aim at the target area.
- Adjust the flow control to set droplet output. Start low and increase as needed.
- When finished, run clean water through the unit before storing (see cleaning steps below).
How to clean it:
- Power off and unplug before cleaning.
- Empty any leftover chemical from the tank and dispose of it per the chemical label.
- Add clean water to the tank and run the fogger for one to two minutes to flush the pump, hose, and nozzle. This is the single most important step for keeping the unit working.
- Wipe the tank and exterior with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the motor housing.
- If the nozzle is clogged, remove it and rinse it in clean water. Do not use metal tools that can scratch the orifice.
- Clean or rinse the intake filter if your model has one. Let all parts dry before reassembly.
- Store empty, clean, and dry. Never store the unit with chemical left in the tank.
How to fix common problems:
- No fog or weak output: Confirm there is liquid in the tank, the tank is sealed, and the flow control is open. A clogged nozzle or filter is the most common cause. Flush with clean water and clear the nozzle as described above.
- Dripping or uneven spray: Usually a partially clogged or wet nozzle. Remove, rinse, dry, and refit the nozzle. Confirm the tank is not overfilled.
- Unit will not power on: Check the outlet and cord. Try a different grounded outlet. If it still will not power on, stop and contact Customer Service.
- Sparks, burning smell, or sudden loss of power: Stop using the unit immediately, unplug it, and do not attempt to run it again. This can indicate internal electrical damage. Contact Customer Service to set up an evaluation. Do not keep operating a unit that has sparked.
Replacement parts and warranty: Internal electrical components and ignition or coil parts are not sold separately. If a unit is damaged or fails inside the warranty period, Customer Service will set up an RMA to evaluate or replace it. Have your proof of purchase ready. See How to File a Warranty Claim for what counts as proof of purchase and how to submit it.
