Flare-Up or Flame at the Nozzle

Applies to: FGI propane insect foggers sold under the Black Flag, Burgess, Cutter and Repel names (Burgess Portable Propane Insect Fogger, manual 161856; Universal Propane Powered Insect Fogger, manual 180551). Electric foggers are covered separately.

What causes this: Insecticide has ignited, or the fogger was pointed toward the ground. New propane bottles may be more likely to flare.

How to fix it:

1. Stop pumping immediately.
2. Turn the propane valve off. The flame will stop after the excess insecticide is eliminated.
3. Place the fogger on a flat, non-combustible surface and let it cool.
4. Always operate the fogger level with the ground, never pointed down.
5. Call Customer Service at 1-800-311-9903 before using the fogger again.
