Applies to: FGI propane insect foggers sold under the Black Flag, Burgess, Cutter and Repel names (Burgess Portable Propane Insect Fogger, manual 161856; Universal Propane Powered Insect Fogger, manual 180551). Electric foggers are covered separately.
What causes this: Liquid is coming out instead of fog. The nozzle is loose, you are pumping too fast, or the unit has not reached operating temperature.
How to fix it:
- Tighten the nozzle securely.
- Pump at a slower rate. Squeeze the trigger slowly and steadily, about once every 3 to 4 seconds.
- Wait 10 to 15 seconds after the unit is hot before you start pumping. On the 180551, pre-heat for at least 2 minutes.
Allow the fogger to cool completely before servicing anything.
