Sprayer is Difficult to Pump (Smith S103E)

Applies to: Smith Performance S103E Stainless Steel Compression Sprayer (Model 190448)

What causes this: The piston o-ring is damaged, or the piston o-ring is dry and needs lubrication.

How to fix it:

1. Depressurize the sprayer and remove the pump assembly.
2. Inspect the piston o-ring (#3M). If damaged, replace it as described in the Pump Disassembly and Reassembly section.
3. If the piston o-ring is intact but dry, lubricate it as described in the Pump Disassembly and Reassembly section.
4. Reassemble the pump and test pumping effort with water in the tank.
