Applies to: FGI propane insect foggers sold under the Black Flag, Burgess, Cutter and Repel names (Burgess Portable Propane Insect Fogger, manual 161856; Universal Propane Powered Insect Fogger, manual 180551). Electric foggers are covered separately.
What causes this: The propane is not reaching the burner, or the automatic igniter is not working.
How to fix it:
- Be sure there is propane in the cylinder.
- If the igniter is not working, light the unit manually: place a lighter under the mesh burner cover, then open the fuel valve one full turn. Ignition takes place immediately.
- If the gas blows the light out, turn the gas off, wait 30 seconds, and try again.
- If it still will not light, call Customer Service at 1-800-311-9903.
Always pre-heat the fogger for at least 2 minutes, level with the ground, before pumping. Failing to pre-heat can clog the burner orifice.
