Chemical Residue Buildup After Use

Modified on Tue, 15 Sep at 6:21 AM

Applies to: Smith Performance S103EX Stainless Steel Compression Sprayer (Model 190468), acetone compatible

What causes this: Acetone and other chemicals can leave residue that degrades seals and clogs passages if the sprayer is not flushed after each use.

How to fix it:

  1. After every use, depressurize the tank and empty any remaining chemical.
  2. Rinse the tank with clean water.
  3. Add approximately 1 quart of clean water, pressurize, and flush through the hose, shut-off, wand, and nozzle until water runs clear.
  4. For heavy buildup, use warm water with mild detergent, let sit up to 1 hour, then rinse thoroughly.
  5. Store the sprayer empty and depressurized.
