Sprayer Does Not Turn On (No Pump Sound)

Applies to: Smith Performance S2E-V 2 Gallon Battery Powered Backpack Sprayer (Model 184883-B)

What causes this: The battery may not be installed correctly, may be discharged, may be damaged or overheated, or the hose may already be pressurized causing the pump to turn off automatically.

How to fix it:

1. Check that the battery is correctly installed. Open the battery compartment, align the battery with the rails inside, and slide it in until firmly seated. Close and latch the door.
2. Press and hold the battery indicator button to check charge level. If low, charge the battery using the included charger.
3. Visually inspect the battery for damage or overheating. If damaged, replace it. If overheated, allow it to cool before re-inserting.
4. If the hose is already pressurized from recent use, the pump may have turned off automatically. Squeeze the shut-off lever to relieve pressure; the pump should re-engage.
5. If the sprayer still will not turn on, contact The Fountainhead Group for service.
