Pump Does Not Fully Prime

Applies to: Smith Performance S2E-V 2 Gallon Battery Powered Backpack Sprayer (Model 184883-B)

What causes this: The tank may be low, the pump may have been run dry, chemical residue may have built up, or the in-tank filter may be missing or damaged.

How to fix it:

1. Check and add liquid if low.
2. If the pump was run dry, turn the sprayer OFF, relieve pressure via the shut-off lever, then turn back on to re-prime.
3. Clean the tank and pump by flushing with clean water for at least 30 seconds. For heavy buildup, use warm water with mild detergent and let sit up to 1 hour before rinsing.
4. Inspect the in-tank filter. Remove, rinse from inside to outside with clean water, and replace if damaged. Do not operate the sprayer without the in-tank filter installed.
5. Reinstall the filter and test.
