M200EP Chemical Residue Buildup

Modified on Tue, 15 Sep at 6:21 AM

Applies to: Smith Performance M200EP Multi-Purpose Acetone Sprayer (Model 190492), acetone compatible

What causes this: Acetone and strong chemicals leave residue that can degrade seals and clog passages if the sprayer is not flushed after use.

How to fix it:

  1. After every use, depressurize the tank and empty any remaining chemical.
  2. Rinse the tank with clean water.
  3. Add about 1 quart of clean water, pressurize, and flush through hose, shut-off, wand, and nozzle until water runs clear.
  4. For heavy buildup, use warm water with mild detergent and let sit up to 1 hour before rinsing.
  5. Store empty and depressurized.
